Towards the end of Erik's journey, I bought him journals that he could write in. One for Madison that had picture prompts, one for Luke that had journal prompts, and one for me that was filled with blank pages. Erik wasn't much of a writer, or a talker for that matter, but I wanted him to write to us if he felt like it. I hadn't been ready to read what he wrote to me, but on the anniversary of his death-March 29-I decided to. It made me cry, made me love him even more...but more importantly, it made me realize it was time to give back. I wanted to continue supporting the work that Walk With Sally already does while incorporating my background in literacy and love of baking and our family's LOVE of football. Though not perfect, I think we are heading in the right direction.
Thank you for supporting us throughout our journey and now we hope we can provide that same love and support that was shown to us.
